Pet Pregnancy Ultrasound and Microchipping Services
Having an ultrasound is a very safe and commonly used way to look inside of dogs, cats and other pets. It is a non-invasive method using sound waves to look at internal organs and detect pregnancy. It is a very safe technology as the sound waves used do not damage or affect the animals body in any way during the procedure.
How an ultrasound works:
An ultrasound machine sends sound waves into the pets body using a probe. It records an echo as the sound waves touch an object. This in then reflected back into the machine and processed by the sophisticated computer converting the sound into an image.
What is involved:
The procedure typically takes around 20 mins. A water based gel will be used which is in no way harmful to the pet. Most animals tolerate scans without any issues at all, some actually almost fall asleep as they are so relaxed.
I am a qualified and very friendly ultrasound technician using a UK CE certified veterinary mobile ultrasound machine. I offer a professional scanning service either within the comfort of your own home or if you prefer I can also arrange for scanning at my premises.
I am also a qualified microchip implanter to microchip mammals.
I offer a very competitive rate starting at £10 per animal.
Please call me on 07746995877 if you would like to discuss anything in more detail.
I am happy to give you a quote on how much it would cost to have an ultrasound performed. I base the cost on distance and time I need to travel.
However, I also offer ultrasounds at my premises which is a flat fee of £30.
Dogs, Cats and any other mammal can be microchipped at any age, but it's more comfortable for puppies/kittens if they're at least six or seven weeks old before being chipped.
Under the new microchipping law that came into effect on 6 April 2016, all dogs and puppies must be microchipped and registered by the age of eight weeks before leaving for their new forever home.
